Our Logo Story

Our logo is a powerful visual reminder of what drives us as individuals but also as a collective. Not only is it a symbol of connection and community but it signals commitment. It is neither a badge nor an icon, but a sign of commitment – it should mark either where we have come together to make a difference or where our intentions lie in terms of protecting what we already have.

Our logo brings together many elements that together symbolize the power of the collective.

It begins with the shell of a sea turtle.

This shape is a Mills family totem and you will see this feature in many visual ways throughout our organizations.

Not only it is a representation of our connection with the earth, but it is also a symbol of strength and protection and reminds us of the innate power and potential we all have to make a difference to others.

The many hands that form the center of our logo reflect the sheer power of the collective.

It captures a sense of optimism and action; outstretched, open hands and fingers ready to connect and come together, to make a real difference.

It’s what we call ‘all hands in, everyone is "all in", coming together, committing to the work we do.

Many different hands reflect the diversity and uniqueness of our team and the communities we support.

It’s this sense of connection that drives us to do more – to give back what we’ve reaped from our own societies and communities. To complete the cycle.
